この物語の舞台であるカフェでは、老若男女、さまざまな性格の人々がテーブルについている。彼らは、芸術的な記号や絵などによるアニメーションの「言語」を通じて、いろいろなことを語り合う。記号や絵は、相互に作用し合ったり、衝突したりしながら、一見、カフェでおしゃべりしているだけのように見える人々について、わかりやすく愉快な方法で物語っていく。

トラムの女性運転手の平凡な日常。毎朝、出勤する男たちが次々とトラムに乗り込んでくる。皆、よく似ていて、物静かで、灰色で、無気力である。にもかかわらず、その日は路面の揺れや振動や、切符を入れる機械のリズムに合わせて、運転手は興奮し、乗り物はエロティックなものになっていく。

プロフィール
ミハエラ・パヴラートヴァは、チェコ共和国出身の映画監督である。ミハエラの短編アニメーション作品（『Words, Words, Words』、『Repete』、『Tram』など）は、アカデミー賞ノミネート、アヌシー映画祭 クリスタル賞、ベルリン映画祭 金熊賞、広島国際アニメーションフェスティバル グランプリなど、国際映画祭で数々の賞を受賞している。2021年には、長編アニメーション『My Sunny Maad』を完成させ、アヌシー、東京、ザグレブ、グアダラハラなどの国際映画祭で受賞したほか、2021年度ゴールデングローブ賞にもノミネートされている。アニメーション以外にも、実写映画『Nevěrné hry / Faithless games』（2004年）、『Děti noci / Night owls』（2008年）などを監督し、サンセバスチャンやカルロヴィヴァリなどの国際映画祭で受賞している。
ミハエラは、プラハの芸術アカデミー映画テレビ学校/ FAMUのアニメーション学科長を務めている。

Psychology drama, expectations and dissapointments, endless waiting - for what?
An endless Dada café of loneliness. Men and women, together and alone, in futile expectations of something. Men turn into women, women turn into men; repeating gestures, absurd fragments of sentences. Michaela Pavlátová’s pun originated in pure joy of unhinged creativity that followed the completion of her feature film My Sunny Maad.
